CityClub, in partnership with UW Debate, will be hosting a moderated debate about marijuana legalization in Kane 210 on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 6-7:30 p.m. Although Washington State currently allows the use of medicinal marijuana, Initiative 502 seeks to legalize the sale and possession of all marijuana for adults over the age of 21. A panel of advocates, campaign representatives and experts will be at the event to discuss the issue. There will also be multiple opportunities to ask questions about public safety, law enforcement and potential tax revenue, among other topics, the initiative could affect. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
