Leah Ceccarelli’s new book wins Marie Hochmuth Nichols Award

Professor Leah Ceccarelli’s new book, “On the Frontier of Science: An American Rhetoric of Exploration and Exploitation” (Michigan State UP, 2013) won the Marie Hochmuth Nichols Award for outstanding scholarship in public address from the Public Address Division of the National Communication Association. The division has a membership of about 700, from which five books were nominated this year. The Nichols award committee remarked on the high quality of all the books they received this year, but they selected this one to honor with the award, identifying it as a particularly “well written and important work of scholarship.”
