“My first food memory is the sound of my mom shaking fresh homemade doughnuts in a brown paper bag of sugar,” Brewer said. “My second is devouring piping hot taiyaki in Japan with my aunties.”

An avid cook herself, who said she feels incomplete when she goes more than a week without a meal of wild Alaskan salmon or halibut, Brewer shares menu highlights and regional recipes from top seafood restaurants, profiles of local fishmongers and markets, a guide to seafood festivals and culinary events, and detailed maps of the three regions in her book.

A book signing will follow the reading and audience Q&A.
