Recent Ph.D. grad wins ICA’s Outstanding Dissertation Award
Meara Faw (Ph.D., 2014) received the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the International Communication Association’s (ICA) Interpersonal Communication Division. The selection committee was “impressed by the quality of the dissertation research and how it extends our knowledge of social support, and more crucially, the support process.”
While at the UW, Faw studied how social support and our connections with our social media networks affect our well-being at physical and relational levels. She now works as an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
UPDATE: Meara Faw also won the NCA Interpersonal Division Dissertation Award for 2015.
