Several faculty members were on hand to make speeches, read names, and shake hands with the newly minted graduates. Nate Miles was recognized as the 2016 Distinguished Alumnus and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives for Eli Lilly and Company. As the keynote speaker, Miles spoke about the importance of finding opportunity in a rapidly changing world of communication. He recognized that the new graduates all now possess the gift of communication and then asked them to consider how they will apply what they have learned as they move forward. Miles said, “It’s in your mind. Your pen. Your keyboard. It’s in your voice. You have that opportunity.”
