Ralina Joseph to Receive Mentor Award

Ralina Joseph, PhD, Director of the UW Center for Communication, Difference, and Equity, will be one of five UW faculty honored this year with an Undergraduate Research Mentor Award.

Every year, the university invites students presenting their work at the Undergraduate Research Symposium to nominate their mentor for special recognition. A committee then selects a few awardees from among those nominees (159 this year) to honor at the symposium on Friday, May 19.

Dean and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academic Affairs, Ed Taylor, will recognize the awardees at the opening of the symposium. In addition, UW President Ana Mari Cauce will speak at the welcome ceremony.

“Our mentoring of undergraduate students on research is an important part of the work we do,” said Department Chair, David Domke. “Congratulations to Dr. Joseph on this well-deserved recognition!”
