“Should the United States end drug prohibition?”
Next Tuesday, Jamen Shively, the man known as the “campus Darth Vader”, and Jamie Gilchrist, a retired criminal investigator, will be debating the question with the UW Policy Debate Team.
Jamen Shively is co-founder and President of Radish.org. He is a former Microsoft Corporate Strategy Manager, and is also a pioneer in the cannabis legalization movement and industry in the state of Washington. He has worked closely with former Mexican President Vicente Fox and other international leaders on the legalization of cannabis. His work at Radish focuses on creating a platform for collective intelligence to solve our most daunting problems, from organized crime to abrupt climate change.
Jamie Gilchrist is a retired criminal investigator with a career-long emphasis on narcotics enforcement and narco-terrorism investigations. He has served locally as well as at the state and federal levels, working in conjunction with the US Department of Justice, the US Department of the Treasury, and the US Border and Customs Protection Service.
