Graduates who earned their degrees in Autumn 2018, or Winter 2019, and students who have a reasonable expectation of graduating in Spring 2019 or Summer 2019 are eligible to participate. If you have any advising questions, please schedule an academic advising appointment or attend drop-in advising hours.

To participate in the Department of Communication Graduation Celebration, students must let us know they will be attending.  The registration form is available HERE.

UW Commencement
Students are also welcome (not required) to participate in the UW Commencement Ceremony* at Husky Stadium on Saturday, June 15. For more information, please visit the UW Commencement webpage. Please note that this is separate from your Communication Graduation registration.

Academic Apparel
Students are not required to wear academic regalia – such as a cap and gown – in order to participate in the Department of Communication Graduation Celebration; however most students in the past have.  For students who would like to wear academic regalia, please go to the UW Commencement web page for ordering instructions and other information.

Please note, all Husky Stadium Commencement participants must be attired in the appropriate academic apparel as outlined on the UW Commencement webpage.

Diplomas are mailed to the address that students select in MyUW (local or permanent), two to three months following graduation. The Department of Communication does not manage the mailing of diplomas, so please contact Graduation and Academic Records with any questions.

All students are limited to eight guests, however there are no physical tickets. Please limit your guest count out of respect and consideration for your fellow students. The headcount that we create from your registrations is IMPERATIVE to us having enough seating for everyone.

Seating is on a first come, first served basis. To request disability seating, please contact mqj13@uw.edu.

To request accommodations for the hearing impaired, contact the Disability Services Office at least ten days in advance at: 206.543.6450/V, 206.543.6452/TTY, 206.685.7264 (FAX), or dso@u.washington.edu.

Please visit the UW Commencement webpage for information regarding parking, including disability parking.

GradImages Photography will be on hand to take graduates’ photos in various areas. These photos will be available for purchase a few weeks after the event.

Please note that the ceremony will be filmed and can be watched after the celebration. The link will be made available after June 13.
