UW Communication Digital Graduation Celebration

Welcome UW Department of Communication graduates, families, and friends!  Here you will find important information about the Department of Communication’s Digital Graduation Celebration, the event program, and more:

Marching Order

This year, the University of Washington (and by extension the Department of Communication) partnered with MarchingOrder to craft a virtual ceremony website, which you can access here: https://vgrad2.z19.web.core.windows.net/seattle/ii/index.html

All questions, comments, and concerns regarding the MarchingOrder platform should be directed to the UW Office of Ceremonies.

Graduation Celebration Videos

Although circumstances prevented us from celebrating together, Communication faculty and staff were determined to share their advice, heartfelt messages of congratulations, and best wishes with graduates. To that end, we produced a special collection of videos for our Undergraduate, M.C. and M.A. and Ph.D. students. We hope that these videos will remind you how special and significant an achievement graduation is, and how proud we all are of everything you have accomplished during your time with us:

Graduation Day Program

All students should have received a PDF copy of the 2020 Graduation Celebration program in an email sent from Communication Chair, Christine Harold. If you did not receive the program, or wish to change the way your name is presented in the program prior to printing in Fall 2020, please email tommyfe1@uw.edu.

Please note that we plan on doing a limited print run of the program as soon as we can return to campus. To reserve your copy, please fill out the Google form linked here: https://forms.gle/EnrBNmwhDuo7DQdS7

Diplomas

Diplomas will still be mailed to the address that students select in MyUW (local or permanent), two to three months following graduation. The Department of Communication does not manage the mailing of diplomas, so please contact Graduation and Academic Records with any questions.
