Karen Rathe has taught with the Department of Communication since 2001. She currently is the editor and instructor for Community News Lab (COM 362) and also teaches Feature Writing, Copy Editing & Design, and Publication Design. She formerly worked as an editor and designer for 14 years for The Seattle Times, and prior to that as a reporter, editor and photographer for newspapers in Oregon. She holds a master's degree in journalism and a bachelor's degree in architecture, both from the University of Oregon.
