Concentration: Political Communication

Political Communication considers how the way we communicate influences political life, civic culture, and smaller communities, groups, and organizations. It also examines how politics, civil society, and government shape the media institutions through which people understand the world and their lives. Courses in this area consider how citizens and communities talk among themselves, how public officials make decisions together, and how citizens and officeholders talk to each other. Some courses also explore the role of communication in autocratic political regimes.
