Ted Coopman

Ted M. Coopman won the Best Student Paper Award at the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR)annual conference held this September in Toronto, Canada.

Saskia Witteborn

Saskia recently attended the National Communication Association (NCA) Doctoral Honors Seminar at Bowling Green State University. This is a conference that is competitive in terms of who is allowed to attend, is sponsored by the largest scholarly association in communication, and is designed to provide a forum for truly outstanding doctoral students to interact with distinguished scholars in the discipline. Saskia's paper was the top-ranked and was extremely well received by the guest faculty who participated.

In the most recent issue of Spectra (October 2003), there is an article about the NCA seminar. Not only is it impressive that Saskia was one of the "most promising doctoral students from across the United Sates and Great Britain who were competitively selected to present and discuss their work,"but she also was the top paper winner in the seminar on Trends and Directions in Culture and Communication.
