Professor Lance Bennett: Dinstinguished Scholar

Lance BennettProfessor Lance Bennett will receive NCA's highest award at the 2007 NCA convention, the Distinguished Scholars Award.

The Distinguished Scholar Award recognizes a lifetime of scholarly achievement in the study of human communication by members of NCA. The Award was established by Mark L. Knapp, (NCA president in 1989).

Distinguished Scholar Awards are for a distinguished career, defined as at least twenty complete years of scholarly contributions since earning a Ph.D. Nominations can only be made by existing Distinguished Scholars.

The Distinguished Scholars represent a group of people who have demonstrated individual intellectual leadership. In all, there are about 30 Distinguished Scholars (about 22 are still living.)
