In the Department of Communication we believe that a high-quality internship provides a valuable opportunity for majors to gain exposure to communication careers while acquiring skills, contacts, and work products that will help upon entrance to the job market. We currently offer up to 4 credits to students with internships, 1 to 2 credits per quarter.
To receive credit you must complete 5 communication courses and fill out the COM 395 Application Form
Participate in Internship Thursdays, where company representatives come to the Department for a few hours to conduct several 15-minute interviews with UW Comm students in CMU 102. Come dressed to impress with resume in hand for a shot to intern with leading Seattle companies.

Description of position:
Interns at Paradigm Communications have the opportunity to write several short articles, which are published with the intern’s byline, for two in-flight magazines that are viewed by more than a million travelers per month. Editorial internships are opportunities for aspiring journalists to acquire professional experience, to work closely with editors and to learn about all phases of magazine publishing.
The internships are unpaid and are 20 hours per week for three months. The internship is open to all—students and non-students.
