Career Exploration presents students with the opportunity to go out into the world and meet with leading communication professionals in TV production, journalism, public relations, and more. This is a unique chance for them to expand their networks in Los Angeles, New York City, and even right here in Seattle. Every year the Department of Communication takes a select group of students to L.A., NYC, and to locations in Seattle to tour facilities and meet with an array of industry professionals.

Thank you to all of the students who applied to participate in the Spring 2017 L.A. and NYC Career Exploration Trips!  The next NYC Career Exploration Trip will take place in Fall 2017.  Applications will open closer to trip dates.  All interested communication students are encouraged to apply!

Read about last quarter’s Career Exploration Seattle, which featured professionals from Starbucks, Amazon, POSSIBLE, and more!

Visiting places like the Los Angeles Times, Sony Pictures Studios, and NBC News, eight students networked with esteemed Communication professionals in the City of Angels for 48 hours. Hear what they took away from each visit and the advice that will guide them beyond graduation.

The Department of Communication brought eight eager students to New York City to explore different career paths and expand their networks. They met with leading Communication professionals at Facebook, VICE News, Marie Claire, Deutsch advertising agency, and more. Many of the mentors are Communication alumni – we could not have made the trip as engaging, informative, and life-changing without you.
