Media as a Catalyst for Social Change

This final issue of the quarter, produced by the students in COM321/POLS330, focuses on the media as a catalyst for change – in three distinct ways. First, we consider how digital technology assists social and political activists in tackling global problems. Second, we reflect on global exports of media products – such as Hollywood films – as a cultural force. Third, we draw attention to the ways in which media can influence international politics by attracting global attention to particular news events.

We hope you enjoy our work.
