CALL FOR ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN
 
Youngstown Cultural Arts Center is a multi-purpose facility committed to
providing space and support for creative expression, community building,
positive youth development and collaboration. Located in the heart of
the Delridge neighborhood in West Seattle, the Center offers exciting
and affordable rental spaces suitable for a variety of uses from live
performances, classes and workshops to business, civic and social
occasions. Available resources include a recording studio, media lab,
150 seat performance venue, movement studio, workshop, promenade
gallery, and convenient conference and classroom spaces. We house the
Southwest Youth Interagency Academy, an alternative program of the
Seattle School District, as well as six anchor tenant organizations such
as the Service Board, Arts Corps and the Nature Consortium, all of which
further issues of social justice and arts development for young people.
In addition, Youngstown operates All Access, a free after school arts
program for high school students that offers classes such as Rock Band,
Yoga and media production.  We are also the Youth Engagement Coordinator
for the King County Food and Fitness Initiative which is dedicated to
providing resources for developing healthy community in Delridge and
White Center.
 
Youngstown seeks an Administrative Intern who is interested in applying
his or her skills towards non-profit facility and event management,
communications, and website development. The Intern would work closely
with the Operations Director and Communications Coordinator for a period
of at least three months, and would be responsible for website
management and the monthly newsletter. He or she will learn to operate
the Event Management System, and will regularly use Constant Contact and
Microsoft Office. 
 
 We seek an individual who has excellent organizational skills, strong
written and verbal communication, and a passion for neighborhood,
community and youth development. The Intern must be comfortable working
independently, creatively motivated, and at ease in a diverse and
fast-paced work environment. Experience with Microsoft Office and basic
HTML is desired.
