Description of Position: 
Development Interns will assist the development staff researching and pursing new ideas for television programs for top cable networks.  Some of the guided responsibilities and learning opportunities will include:
-	Assist with content creation
-	Research ideas and create write-ups
-	Assist in casting
-	Learn about treatments
-	Support the team as necessary

KPLU Public Radio's Morning Edition - Paid Student Internship (Seattle

INTERNS WANTED 
Spring 2011

Entercom Seattle is looking for people who have a strong interest in learning skills within the radio broadcasting industry. Internship opportunities are available for creative, outgoing, motivated people with flexible schedules. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in many aspects of radio but will be working mainly within the KISW Promotions Department. As an intern, you will have the chance to work at major promotional events, help grown our social media and digital campaigns, concerts, and on-site appearances with local merchants. Interns will also provide research support to the KISW Promotions Department for a special anniversary project. 

The terms of the internship will require 12-15 weekly office hours to be spent in the station offices to understand the day-to-day workings of our industry. Morning Traffic/New Media Internship Monday-Friday

KIRO 7's morning show has an exciting opportunity for the best of the best. We are looking for a competitive, TV savvy student to add to our super morning team to lead our new media internship program. This internship is an opportunity to be on the forefront of mixing television with new media/social networks. As a key part of our morning team you will work closely with the Traffic Anchor to design and implement new programs to
ensure KIRO 7's traffic department stays on the cutting edge when it comes to taking advantage of new media. The intern will be exposed to all aspects of the editorial process when it comes to the morning news program, working closely with the show's Executive Producer. During the live show the intern will be actively involved in producing web content, along with  co-anchoring the only traffic blog in the market. 

This position is considered to be a major part of adding to the morning show's success. The intern will leave this internship with a solid knowledge of a morning show path to the top from all levels (on and off air). DESCRIPTION:
As an Intern for KOMO Newsradio, you’ll spend time working alongside Editors, Reporters, and Sportscasters. You’ll learn writing techniques that are unique to radio, digital audio production and editing, experience work outside the station in news and sports settings, and receive an introduction to on-air work. KOMO Newsradio is a unique setting in that its format is all-news, 24 hours a day. As an Intern, you understand that this is different from the classroom setting in that there is not constant instruction; you are responsible for gleaning what you can out of your time with KOMO Newsradio. This position requires schedule flexibility, as well as a person who can adapt to changes quickly. On a daily basis, Interns are assigned to different departments, based on that day’s needs. This means hours/workdays can vary, and can include weekends.

KING 5 Television is launching a new,  live studio audience talk show on
March 29th. It will air at 11:00am. An intern opportunity to work on the
show is currently open.  The intern would work 20 hours a week, 4 hours a
day Mon-Fri. Most likely the hours will be from 8:30am to 12:30pm.  Intern

Broadcast Journalism Internship
Description

SUMMARY:
BITV offers a unique opportunity for qualified students to advance their broadcast journalism skills in this multi-faceted, hands-on learning environment. The intern will be a integral person in the news team while gaining valuable experience setting up equipment, shooting, writing, interviewing, on-camera announcing, editing, and eventually producing stories for the weekly newscast. Qualified interns will have the opportunity to guest anchor and work with the news director to write and stack the newscast.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NECESSARY:  
The intern must be enrolled in a two or four-year broadcasting program, or have comparable broadcast journalism experience. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
Manual dexterity and strength to operate cameras, computers and equipment commonly found in TV news departments. Must be available to meet internship schedule and report local news coverage primarily on Bainbridge Island. 

COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
Internships vary from 8 to 32 weekly hours depending on intern availability and school requirements. Compensation is a per diem for travel and meals. BITV will provide course credits as required by institution.

of an expansion team in the West Coast League, a summer collegiate wood-bat
baseball  league that features a full season of professional baseball

KIRO-TV Internship Program
Internship Requirements

1. The student must be registered at a University, College, Community College or Vocational-Technical Institute.

2. The student should have junior or senior status, or be in the last year of a Community College or Vocational-Technical program.

3. The student must be sponsored by a faculty advisor and/or internship coordinator. Written confirmation must be provided by the university/college confirming that a minimum of one credit hour will be earned for participation in the program. No compensation will be received from the station.

4. All internships require a minimum of 15 hours per week covering a period of 10-16 weeks, depending on the school's quarter or semester length.

5. While KIRO-TV considers the internship program format valuable in observing the student's attitude, talents, and skills, it is understood that no guarantees are given for future employment.

Morning Traffic/New Media Internship Monday-Friday

KIRO 7's morning show has an exciting opportunity for the best of the best. We are looking for a competitive, TV savvy student to add to our super morning team to lead our new media internship program. This internship is an opportunity to be on the forefront of mixing television with new media/social networks. As a key part of our morning team you will work closely with the Traffic Anchor to design and implement new programs to ensure KIRO 7's traffic department stays on the cutting edge when it comes to taking advantage of new media. The intern will be exposed to all aspects of the editorial process when it comes to the morning news program, working closely with the show's Executive Producer. During the live show the intern will be actively involved in producing web content, along with co-anchoring the only traffic blog in the market. This position is considered to be a major part of adding to the morning show’s success. The intern will leave this internship with a solid knowledge of a morning show path to the top from all levels (on and off air). Production Department Internship. This internship is for students who want to immerse themselves in studio and field production. The intern will assist the production and local programming departments with daily productions and preparation for Seafair events. The focus will be on growing and managing existing business and building new business opportunities. The intern will receive hands-on experience with general operations of television sales, website marketing, promotions, traffic, research, ratings, and special projects while helping facilitate client service activities in the sales department. Specific functions may include: creating & updating sales proposals and client recaps; assisting with the implementation of kirotv.com contests and promotions; maintaining the KIRO sales calendar; creating & tracking kirotv.com advertiser reports; participating in sales calls and client presentations; creating prospecting lists for special advertising initiatives and projects; assisting Sales Managers with special projects and set-up of training sessions; and attending sales meetings, training sessions, business development brainstorms and additional sales events such as Seafair and casting calls as they occur. Will also assist the photographer on location shoots when possible . Should have basic knowledge of television production, basic computer skills, and ability to learn simple assignments quickly. 

Creative Services

This internship is for students interested in Television Promotion and Creative Services. This encompasses writing and producing spots for news, programming, public service announcements and station sponsored events. The student will learn creative writing techniques in addition to the effective use of video and graphics for promotional spots. The intern will also observe producers during edit sessions to gain knowledge and an understanding of production techniques. Student will assist writer/producers with viewing tapes, logging video and gathering information in preparation for production. Student may also accompany producers in the field for creative shoots. Description: The SPRING Traffic/New Media internship is an opportunity
to be on the forefront of mixing television with new media/social
networks. As a key part of our morning team you will work closely with
the Traffic Anchor to design and implement new programs to ensure KIRO
7's traffic department stays on the cutting edge when it comes to taking
advantage of new media. The intern will be exposed to all aspects of the
editorial process when it comes to the morning news program, working
closely with the show's Executive Producer. During the live show the
intern will be actively involved in producing web content, along with
co-anchoring the only traffic blog in the market.
 
This position is considered to be a major part of adding to the morning
show's success. The intern will leave this internship with a solid
knowledge of a morning show path to the top from all levels (on and off
air).

The online internship involves packaging news and programming for an online
audience. The intern will work with Web producers who are responsible for
all activities on KUOW.org, KXOT.org and NWNewsNetwork.org. The intern's
duties will include light copyediting; fact?checking as needed; formatting
transcripts and show promotions; and selecting and formatting photos and
graphics. Special projects may be assigned as the internship progresses.
 
The intern will gain technical experience working with HTML, Photoshop and
our database?driven Website. In addition, the intern will acquire
journalistic skills, including writing headlines and selecting appropriate
photographs to illustrate a story. The internship program is intended to
teach interns the skills that would enable them to become an online
producer.

INTERNSHIP AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT

	Whereas, the School desires to have its students receive practical training and experience with the stations in the public broadcasting industry for which the school will give credit hours to its students; and 

	Whereas, the Student desires to receive school credit and practical training and experience in the public broadcasting industry.

IT IS THEREFORE AGREED AS FOLLOWS:

1.)	Under the terms of this agreement station agrees to provide practical experience and training in the field of broadcasting for the student as an unpaid intern for the term of ____________ to ______________.  No representations or promises of employment are made in this agreement.  Furthermore, no representations or promises of further practical training beyond this express term have been made by station to the student.

2.)	The student shall (a) abide by all safety rules and procedures of station as explained and provided to student; (b) comport all conduct to standards as required by station; (c) exert best efforts in receiving training and cooperate with and follow the instructions of employees of station who are strictly the confidences of station, the customers of station, all information or data received regarding station, and any of its trade secrets or any other confidential business information received by the student.

3.)	Station agrees to provide to the student practical training in the public broadcasting industry during the term described above.  Station does not promise the student any particular area of training and the type of training provided shall be at its sole discretion.

4.)	The school agrees that it shall (a) coordinate the placement of interns with station; (b) provide personnel for the resolution of any problems in the implementation of the internship program or in the relationship between station and the student; and (c) indemnify and hold station and its officers, agents and employees harmless from any and all liability, loss, damage or payment (including cost and reasonable attorney’s fees) that station may incur as a result of any claims, demands, costs or judgment against station arising out of or related to student’s participation in station’s participation in station’s internship program.

5.)	It is expressly understood and agreed between the parties that the student is not an employee, agent or servant of station for any specific duration or for any purpose and that the student has no expectation of future employment or further practical training with station.

6.)	The parties acknowledge and agree that the internship program is voluntarily conducted by station, and the position of the student is that of a volunteer.  Due to the limited and special nature of the internship program the parties acknowledge and agree that:  (a) the student is responsible for all of his/her personal expenses; (b) the student is not entitled to and shall not receive any salary, wage, pay or any type of remuneration whether monetary or in kind; (c) the student shall not be eligible for any employment benefits otherwise available to persons who are employees at the station such as, but not limited to workers’ compensation, health and life insurance; unemployment compensation benefits or any other employee related benefits, and (d) station does not guarantee the product, outcome, benefit or practical training experience of the student’s internship.

7.)	In consideration of the practical training opportunity made available to the student, the student expressly waives any and all claims the student may have or which may otherwise arise against station, its officers, agents or employees in connection with the internship program and his or her participation therein.

8.)	Notwithstanding paragraph 1, it is agreed and acknowledged between the parties that the student is not providing any consideration to station in terms of work performed or any additional consideration in exchange for the training and experience received from station, which is provided voluntarily as a community service.

We are looking for motivated students who have an interest in sports and radio. This opportunity is very unique because it requires a lot of hands on experience. Interns will help prepare for a daily 3 hour show during the afternoon drive between 3-6 PM.
 
Interns will have an opportunity to cover local sporting events.  During the fall, we sent many of our interns down to Mike Holmgren and Tyrone Willingham press conferences.  Interns also venture to Seahawks, Huskies and Mariner games to go inside the locker
room/clubhouse to get interviews and sound from the players/coaches.

The ABC News Political Unit is now seeking full-time spring interns in Washington, D.C. 

The paid internship begins Monday, Jan. 7, 2009 and runs through Friday, May 23, 2009. 

Political Unit interns attend political events and collaborate on stories for the politics page of ABCNews.com, including The Note. They also help us by conducting research, maintaining contact lists, and building the next day's political schedule. 

In order to apply, you MUST be either a graduate student or an undergraduate student who has completed his or her first year of college. The internship is NOT open to recent graduates. 

You also must be able to work eight hours per day, starting early, Monday through Friday.

BIZ KID$

Bizkid$ is a television show that airs on PBS on at least one station in every state.  We are into our second season now and basically we teach children all about business in a fun and instuctional way.  Our Executive Producers created Billy Nye the Science Guy so this show
has some of those fun whacky elements to it.

I need someone that ALREADY is a Final Cut Pro editor as we do not have time to teach anyone how to do this job. This Internship is unpaid and we do NOT require that they be registered in a communications class to participate.
 
We will need to have interns here till at least December 5th. The hours would be 10:00am till 5:00pm. 

Here is what someone could expect from the internship:
 
1. Learning editing procedures such as:
a. footage ingestion into the system,
b. tape transcription
c. Editing "string outs" for our shows.(taking footage and arranging on a linear timeline in FCP)
 
2. Media management by updating our edit log books.
 
3. Errand Running to and from our vendors offices
 
4. Picking up or dropping off tapes to our warehouse
 
The internship would be what they would make it, we have two full time Assistant Editors here now that can answer questions and the candidate would be working under both of them. I am the Supervisor for the whole group so I will periodically assign the intern jobs and we may even work together on special projects that come along that are meant for the bizkids website.
There is much to do and much to learn so we can keep them busy. This hands on experience is more than most internships would offer someone who is still in school.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS INTERN

Internship offered:  Quarterly

Hours: Flexible (no weekends), 5 to 10 hours a week over the course of a quarter.

Compensation: School Credit

Overview: SCAN, a community media station that reaches over 400,000 cable households throughout King County (on Comcast, channel 77 & Broadstripe, channel 23) and worldwide on the Internet, is currently seeking a community relations intern. This internship is for students interested in Community Relations and Television Production.

Summary: The Community Relations Intern will assist in writing press releases, making contacts with community organizations, organizing promotional events and/or partnerships, and other duties as assigned. Position will work closely with the Community Relations Specialist. However, the internship experience will also offer a full range of business know-how, not limiting the intern to one department. Interns may gain additional experience in the areas of community outreach, education, and the marketing department.

Responsibilities:
•	Assist in promotion of SCAN services, programs and events
•	Database administration
•	Help proofread and organize SCAN’s bi-monthly newsletter.
•	Help produce a monthly short video, “Producer Spotlight,” that highlights a SCAN producer.
•	Occasionally assist with front desk duties (greeting customers at the front entrance & answering the phone, having guests sign in & out, etc.)
•	Research organizations, groups, etc. that SCAN would want to establish contact with. (Establish initial contact with the organization in the form of visiting the location and explaining our services to a primary contact.)
•	Write and send out press releases to local media organizations with the assistance of the Community Relations Specialist.
•	Assist with posting news releases on the SCAN website, www.scantv.org. (Will train.)
•	Copy and file press clippings
•	Distribute promotional materials to designated organizations.

Requirements: 
•	Students should be in their junior or senior year, majoring in marketing, broadcast communications, advertising, public relations or related field.
•	Strong organizational and people skills are required, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
•	Transportation to and from SCAN, as well as SCAN and/or SCAN-partnered events 
•	Ability to work alone and in a team environment, achieve specific goals
•	Ability to track information in an organized manner.
Basic computer skills required.
•	Candidate must be comfortable in dealing with people of diverse backgrounds.
•	Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Video production experience is helpful but not necessary.

on experience. Interns will help produce and prepare for a daily 3 hour
show during the afternoon drive between 3-6 PM. Interns will also have an
opportunity to cover the local sporting events and conduct interviews
with professional and collegiate athletes. During the winter, we send
many of our interns down to the Husky and Sonic basketball games to get
interviews and sound from the players/coaches. Interns will also be
required to do research and learn audio equipment for editing. On air
