Liang Pan is a Ph.D. student and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Communication of the University of Washington. His research interests include: global news media, political communication, international relations and public diplomacy.

Liang has published academic writings in peer review journals such as Exchange Journal of Public Diplomacy. He is also a frequent op-ed contributor to international media. His articles have been published and bylined by Foreign Policy , The Atlantic, The South China Morning Post, The ChinaFile of Asia Society, and The Global Times.

Liang has had fellowship appointment from The Asia Foundation in San Francisco and received Academic Achievement Award in Persuasion and Politics/Global and Transcultural Communication from Department of Media, Culture and Communication at New York University. He earned his bachelor's degree in English from Jilin University. He has master's degrees in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and in Media, Culture and Communication from New York University.
