Alicia was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico. Her film American Red and Black is the culmination of her graduate research on the contemporary and historical experiences of Afro-Natives or Black Indians. She is currently working as a video producer and researcher at the University of Washington and developing projects that combine her interests in social justice and film.
