Jessica Partnow, Artist in Residence, is a radio and multimedia journalist whose work has been published by NPR, KUOW, The World and the World Vision Report. She is Executive Director, and one of the founders of The Seattle Globalist, a nonprofit organization devoted to multimedia journalism that is housed in the UW Communication Department.
Jessica teaches Entrepreneurial Journalism and manages placement for the Department’s Premier Journalism Internship Program. She has technical skills in audio recording and web development.
She was a Knight New Media Fellow at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Her radio series Life on the Duwamish received the 2008 Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for News Series. Generation Putin, her hour-long public radio special on young people and political change in the former Soviet Union, is available online through PRX, the Public Radio Exchange.
