Katherine G. Hendrix (PhD, '94) Associate Professor, Department of Communication, University of Memphis.

Awarded the "Top 3 Paper" in the Spirituality Division for "The spirit that strengthens me: Teaching with a religious foundation," a paper she presented at the National Communication Association conference held in San Antonio, TX in 2006.

Awarded the Outstanding Journal Article, International and Intercultural Division, at the same conference, for "An Invitation to Dialogue: Do communication journal reviewers mute the race-related research of scholars of color?" (published in the Southern Communication Journal).
