Introduction

Getting Started in Adobe Premiere

This site serves as a supplemental resource for Communication 460 (Writing for Broadcast) students who attended the in-class workshop on basic video editing. The instructions here correspond to the printed exercise materials handed out in class.

Download the MS Word version of the exercise: basicvideoediting.doc

The goal of the exercise is to introduce students to a few methods for editing audio clips, video clips, natural sound, voiceovers and sound bites into a simple news story.

The video clips used in the exercise, courtesy of Catalyst, will be available in the Communications Building, Room 302 through the end of spring quarter. If you are interested in completing this exercise, but do not have access to the relevant footage or the computers in Communications 302, please contact Kristina Bowman in the IRC.
