Rhetoric and Critical/Cultural Studies focuses on the analysis of texts, public discourse, and culture, and it studies processes of social influence in many media, including books, essays, speeches, mass-mediated and online public discourse. Courses consider how the forms of representation and persuasion used to produce messages have an influence on how messages are perceived and understood, and also how community perceptions influence message production and meaning.
